Buying Guide
What size trampoline is right for my family? – Buying guide
With so many different trampoline models available, ranging from inexpensive to premium quality, choosing the right trampoline can be tricky. People often ask, which trampoline is right for me? What size should I choose for my backyard? What size and model trampoline is best for my family? Usually, the ‘right size’ is a little more than what you can manage to squeeze into the backyard’, and today we provide some advice and tips when choosing a trampoline size. Follow these steps to find the right fit for you and your family.
Step 1 – Do you know who you purchased the trampoline from?
If you know the brand of the trampoline, it is always best when buying a trampoline mat to go back to the original company. Spark trampolines have the world’s strongest trampoline structure with patented cross-over safety features, which could integrate our unique accessories, like swings and monkey bars into your private fun centres. Step 2 – How Much Space Do You Have?
The first step to deciding which trampoline is best for you is to measure your backyard and find out how much space you have. Look for a section of your backyard that is flat and even, and clear of branches, debris, fences and slopes, and measure the space to see how much room you’re working with. Don’t forget to allow for additional safe clearance space around the trampoline. Here are our recommendations to find the best space for your trampoline:
-
Flat and even. We don’t advise installing where the slope is greater than 2 degrees, which could affect the jump balance.
-
Safe lateral clearance space of 1.5m on all sides of the trampoline is highly recommended.
-
Minimum height clearance of 6m from the ground is highly recommended.
-
Clean and free of obstacles or debris.
Step 3 – Who Is Playing?
The trampoline model you choose also depends on who will be using the trampoline. Is it just the kids or will Mum and Dad jump too? For older jumpers and energetic families, trampolines with a larger surface area can be lots of fun, and provide plenty of jumping room.
The trampoline maximum user weight is also an important factor for trampoline size selection. The Maximum User Weight is based on how heavy you are and how high you jump, and it is also called “Dynamic Jump Weight” (DJW). The “Static Load Weight” (SLW) of Spark trampolines is a few times than DJW which is 150kg.
